Tripp Lite’s P116-000-HDMI is the perfect solution for using an older PC or laptop with a new HDMI display. The unit converts VGA video and stereo audio signals for use with an HDMI projector, monitor or television so you don’t need to upgrade your source equipment. Ideal for use in home audio/video setups, media presentations and digital signage installations that require high-quality picture and sound. The P116-000-HDMI supports HD video resolutions up to 1080p and computer video resolutions up to 1280 x 1024. It also supports 24-bit True Color (8 bits per channel) and is HDCP compliant (note: the unit’s HDCP switch should be set to on if using with a component such as a DVD player or DVR).

With no software or drivers to install, the P116-000-HDMI’s plug-and-play setup gets your application up and running quickly. Connect your computer’s VGA and audio ports to the P116-000-HDMI and then connect the converter to your HDMI display. Attach the included external power supply and you’re ready to go. (If your computer has only a 3.5 mm mini stereo audio jack, connect it to the converter using a 3.5 mm to RCA adapter cable, such as Tripp Lite’s P314-006.) Note: the display you’re connecting must have an HDMI port that can accept a converted HDMI signal. Contact your display manufacturer to confirm it will work with a VGA + Audio to HDMI converter. If your display does not support this, an alternative solution is a USB to HDMI adapter, such as Tripp Lite’s U244-001-HDMI-R.
